Hold parties earlier in the week to avoid weekend cancellations.
Have bonus gifts for day parties (maximize your first 4 days of the week).
Promote office Stop N Shops. Mention this at every party.
Promote summer theme parties.
Offer to hold parties at cottages, campgrounds, picnic areas, etc.
Be seasonal with the product.
Close your parties the night of the party. Let your host know you will be doing this.
Prepare your hosts to really work on advance orders for summer parties.
Be the seller, not the buyer to summer excuses.
How to Overcome Summertime Excuses…What to say to overcome objections!
Everyone in Not on Vacation!!!
- Only 5% of the population take their vacations at the same time. That means you still have 95% of the public to work with!
- Just look at the stores and shopping centers…they haven’t closed for the summer because they say “everyone is on vacation”!
- Summertime is a great time to have a Tupperware party. Baby sitters are easy to get, and if a teenager will watch the little ones while you are having a party…offer him/her a little gift.
- This is the time of year when everyone wants to be outside and a backyard or patio party is very informal and FUN!!!
Vacations: When are you leaving? How long will you be gone? Where are you going?
(Few days away or same week) Wonderful! You’ll be so excited to tell everyone about your trip when you get back, so lets keep it simple, lemonade and cookies…offer choice of dates.
(If the answer is to the beach, find out if it’s near by) Going next week? Wonderful! Let’s plan a get-together for the end of the first week, by then you’ll be acquainted with your beach neighbours and Everyone needs Tupperware down there! Morning or afternoon better for you?
(Staying at home) You know you owe it to yourself to relax for and hour and a half. Lets keep it simple, and have it outdoors…just ice cream and cookies…do you like to get together during the day or do you prefer the evening?
(All my friends and neighbours are going on vacation) I know it seems like everyone is gone in the summertime, but only 5% of the people go away on vacation at the same time. Those friends that are going away, can be your advance orders. Let’s pick your date and you will be surprised at how many of your fiends will be available to attend.
(We just got back…too many things to do) There are always too many things to do. Why not sit and relax for a couple of hours with your friends. Let’s sit out on the deck and you won’t even have to worry about the house. It will be fun.
Wait until the fall: Tupperware offers so many great specials and “extras” in the summer months. Plus, people love to use their Tupperware for summer activities. Let’s set a date and have a deck/patio/backyard demo. They are so easy and fun!
The kids are out of school: If the little kids are home, so are the teenagers! Ask a teen to come over and watch the kids outside while you party inside with the adults. I’ll even give the teen a special gift of Tupperware for helping with the party.
When school starts: Summertime is the best time, while the children can play in the yard. Maybe a teenager next door can look after the children and I’ll give them a gift for helping out. Do you like quick morning coffee, or do you prefer the afternoon?
Maybe later this summer: Later would be a great time for a party too, but our specials and Host offers right now are so great! You could spend a couple of hours on a party and get so many gifts in return that you can enjoy the rest of the summer with your new Tupperware!
